ZeroAds does not offer support for a Macintosh operating system since it uses Winsock to perform its functions. Winsock is found only in Windows operating systems.

The current version of ZeroAds does not support AOL as a browser, but AOL users can still use ZeroAds with other browsers like Internet Explorer or Netscape. We are constantly working on improving our application to support more browsers

      How do I download my purchased copy?  
     

As soon as you purchase, a confirmation e-mail will automatically be sent to you with information on downloading your copy of ZeroAds. The confirmation e-mail includes a download link, where you can download your valid purchased copy.

      If I lose my original copy of ZeroAds, how do I download it again?

      I recently bought a new computer. How do I transfer my ZeroAds from my old computer to my new one?

    Installation  
     

How do I install ZeroAds?

 
     

Go to the folder where you saved your installer file (usually your Desktop or My Documents), and double-click on the ZeroAds installer file. Follow the steps for installation. You will be prompted to close all Windows applications and restart your computer after installing.

After your computer has restarted, you will be greeted by the ZeroAds quick start guide window. The quick start guide will help you understand how ZeroAds works. When you close this window, the ZeroAds dashboard will appear on the top of your screen to signify that it is up and running. You can now enjoy ad-free surfing!

If you need any help while using ZeroAds, you can click on the (?) icon on the upper right corner of the ZeroAds dashboard.

 
     
 
    Registration  
      How do I register?  
     

A registration key is included in your confirmation e-mail. To avoid any mistakes, we recommend you copy and paste the registration key from the e-mail to the registration window. You can also refer to the ZeroAds quick start guide for more instructions on how to register.

 
     
 
      I lost my registration key. What do I do?  
     

You can contact our technical support team to give you your registration key. Just e-mail support@zeroads.com or click on the 'Let's Talk' button on our main page.

 
     
 
      During registration, I received a message saying I had entered an invalid registration key. What do I do?  
     

To avoid any mistakes, we recommend you copy and paste the registration key from the e-mail to the registration window.

    Others  
      Can I move the dashboard anywhere I want?  
     

Yes, you can - simply click on either corner of the dashboard and drag the mouse pointer across your screen. You can also minimize the dashboard to your task tray by clicking on the ( _ ) icon on the upper right corner of the dashboard.

 
     
 
    Troubleshooting  
      I can't access online gaming websites.  
     

Some online gaming sites require pop-ups for a user to join, and others use pop-up windows for a user to log in. Here's what you need to do in order to proceed:

1) On your ZeroAds dashboard, click on the counters and set the blocking mode to normal.

2). Clear your cache by following these steps:

a. Click on Tools on the browser window or page where you wish to play.
b. Select Internet Options to bring up the Internet Options window.
c. Under Temporary Internet Files, click on Delete Files.
d. Click the box beside Delete all offline content on the smaller window that appears. This will clear your cache.

3) Click ok, then refresh the page you wish to view.

If you are still unable to access your online games after following these steps, contact our technical support team for further assistance.

 
     
 
      Can't access regular websites  
     

Aside from checking your system for spyware (download ZeroSpyware at www.zerospyware.com), here are a few tips:

a. Set the blocking mode to normal by adjusting your settings on your ZeroAds dashboard.

b. Clear your cache:
i. On the page you wish to view, click on Tools, then select Internet Options to bring down a smaller window of options.
ii. Under Temporary Internet Files, click on 'Delete Files'.
iii. Click on the box beside 'Delete all offline content' on the next window that appears.

c. Click Ok and refresh the page you wish to access.

      I still encounter pop-ups even when ZeroAds is running.  
     

If you still encounter pop-ups while surfing with ZeroAds on, try the following tips:

Blocking Status

Make sure the blocking functions on your ZeroAds dashboard are activated.

Click on the Blocking Counter to bring down the Blocking Options panel. Make sure that all options are set to 'On' and the blocking mode to ' Normal'. If you still encounter pop-ups in normal mode, try setting it to 'Aggressive'.

Clear Your Cache

You can clear your cache to remove old ads, and then check if ZeroAds blocks the new ads, pop-ups, and cookies when you surf. (See letter 'b' in the previous question for directions on how to clear your cache.)

Incompatible Programs

If, after activating blocking functions and clearing your cache, you still encounter pop-ups, you can check your Bandwidth Monitor to see any incompatible programs that are running. Click on the Upload/Download graph on the ZeroAds dashboard to display the Bandwidth Monitor. Click on the arrows beside 'By Application' to see a drop-down menu with a list of running applications.

Spyware

More often than not, your pop-ups could come from spyware. You can bring up the Spyware Monitor by clicking on the 'Configure' button, then 'Options', and select 'View Blocked Spyware List'. If any spyware applications are listed, you can download ZeroSpyware from www.zerospyware.com for a 15-day free trial. ZeroSpyware will remove all spyware installed on your system.

LSP Conflict

If you receive a message on spyware detected in your system prior to installation, take note of the exact message and contact our technical support team for more information.

Messenger Service Pop-ups

You might also encounter pop-ups that are not ads, but part of the Messenger Service system of your computer. These pop-ups are gray windows that appear even when you are not connected to the Internet. To stop this service, go to your Control Panel from the Start Menu, click on Administrative Tools, and select Services. Search for the service name 'Messenger' and click on 'Stop the service' to eliminate these pop-ups.

      System crashing or freezing  
     

Check for spyware from the 'View Blocked Spyware List' in the Options menu, and then remove the spyware from your system using ZeroSpyware. You can download ZeroSpyware for free at www.zerospyware.com.

      Computer running slower  
     

If your computer performs slower than usual, try these tips:

Running Programs

You may be running programs that use up much of your resources. To check your CPU usage, press the Ctrl, Alt, and Delete keys simultaneously to bring up your Task Manager. Go to the Processes tab and check which programs are using up most of your resources. If you are using Windows XP, you can also check the Performance tab to see the percentage of your overall CPU usage.

Spyware or Incompatible Programs

Slow performance may be a symptom of having spyware in your system. Check the Spyware Monitor from your ZeroAds dashboard for any listed spyware, and download ZeroSpyware for free ( www.zerospyware.com) to remove the spyware from your computer. You can also check for any incompatible programs you have through the Bandwidth Monitor from the ZeroAds dashboard.

 
     
 
      Severed Internet Connection  
     

If your Internet connection has been severed, you may have spyware in your system. Download ZeroSpyware from www.zerospyware.com for free to remove these spyware programs. You can also check for possible incompatibility issues with other programs.

 
     
 
      During installation, I received a message saying an application not conforming to Microsoft standards was found in my system. What should I do?  
     

This is the ZeroAds disclaimer on applications in your system which may cause conflict with ZeroAds (or other Windows applications) once ZeroAds is installed.
