Description of : Xupiter is an Internet Explorer toolbar which contains link buttons to the search engine xupiter.com and a task run at Windows startup which downloads updates to the software and may launch pop-ups. Xupiter can also hijack your home page and search settings to point to xupiter.com, as well as add links pointing to xupiter.com in your browser's bookmarks. It is installed by ActiveX drive-by download in affiliate sites like freewebupgrades.com. Pop-up ads on sites like FortuneCity and cjb.net subdomains can also install Xupiter. The service, however, has already been discontinued.
